Harvesting Super healthy and ripe Petit Verdot grapes at the only plot of that grape belonging to Lynch-Bages.
The cool October Morning soon turned into a beautiful, sunny day.
The forecast for the next few days was so stable, there was none of the usual rush associated with a Bordeaux harvest. Everybody seemed so relaxed, happy and trusting that This late ripening grape, together with the Cabernet Sauvignon will reach the winery without any weather affecting the rest of the harvest.
The grapes were so perfumed, I predicted that even if Lynch-Bages had much more than the 2 hectares they have, they’ll probably not include more than 3-4% of it in they’re Grand vin, as it will really influence flavour and spice.
